Hi,
the file is libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/linux/pdftotext. The error message is not very clear, we must change |

Hello Sir,
I have been working through a few problems with iFile and have had success in all except this same error about pdftotext not being executable. I think I'm almost there - any help you can give would be great. I did chmod 755 on the pdftotext files in all three dirs: libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/linux/ libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/linux/bin32 libraries/ifile/adapter/helpers/binaries/linux/bin64

In the "Report check system" you should find the exact path:

Thank you.
Yes, this was the first path I checked - is listed as: Permission XPDF Binaries File (/usr/bin/pdftotext): 0 - Please set to 0755 for binaries XPDF in LIN /usr/bin/pdftotext was already set to 755 but I ran chmod ugo+rwx (just to make sure) and there was no change in the above error. |

Hello Antonio,
Also, Report Check System has "0" listed as the permission - indicating that it's looking for the pdftotext binary in a different location. How does JiFile determine the path to the executable? Thank you. |

The more I use this the more I like it but I still can't get PDFs to work.
Would the cron automatic indexing work even if the manual indexing doesn't? Eventually I want to run that anyway. I'm wondering if this is an apache security issue but I don't see any sign of that. PHP is running in non-safe mode. I'm working through the "Basic Installation Problems" thread but not finding anything wrong yet. |
